how to heal your heart

I vividly recall gazing at our family dog. At just a few weeks old, I had already fallen head over heels for her. How did I know? I distinctly felt my heart space—the area surrounding my heart—'crack open' with an overwhelming surge of energy enveloping my chest. Tears welled in my eyes. In that moment, I was flooded with immense love from her. My heart chakra was fully opened, brimming with the joy and happiness that Luna brought into my life. I was astonished not only by the depth of love I felt for a dog but also by the profound sensation of love within my heart space. For me, it signified an energetic 'level up.' I had confronted my traumas, healed past wounds, and emerged stronger, creating a heart that was ready to receive love.

Ah, the journey of the heart often sneaks up on you. Once you tap into your heart space and start feeling, your life will transform.

First and foremost, congratulations! You've reached a pivotal moment of reconciliation. Acknowledging that you have a heart that has given, received, opened, possibly closed, and even broken—now you’re ready to mend it. Kudos to you for healing yourself!

Here are some tips to nurture yourself as you repair your heart space:

  • Express, Not Suppress
Expressing your feelings is crucial. One effective way to release pent-up emotions is through writing.
Create a safe space for yourself and write passionately. Begin or continue to put into words what's inside you.
Physically express your thoughts, hopes, dreams, fears, annoyances, ideas, and goals on paper—whatever is bubbling within, allow it to flow. Your journal is your judgment-free zone.

  • Drop Into Your Body
Engage in gentle movement through deep stretching and yoga. Poses like camel, mountain, backbends, and my personal favorite, child’s pose, help us surrender deeply.

  • Hugs!
Embrace yourself every single day, just as you would hug another person. Offer yourself comfort, compassion, and strength.

  • Practice Receiving
Say "yes" more often. Affirm how deserving you are of all the goodness that comes your way. Even if it’s just a small gesture, like a compliment, accept it wholeheartedly.

These practices may lead to an emotional release (tears), especially if there are unresolved feelings blocking your heart. Let those emotions flow. When things, people, or feelings ebb and flow, allow them to do so, so you don’t hold onto anything unnecessarily. These tools have been instrumental for me in accessing my heart space. I practice and teach these methods, and they are incredibly effective.

You possess everything you need; may your heart crack wide open and be ready to receive!
